Salvatore Martinez meets Bernice Albertine King, daughter of Martin Luther King.

Salvatore Martinez, President of the Vatican Foundation "International Center Family of Nazareth" and of the Observatory on Religious Minorities in the world and the Respect of Religious Freedom, body established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), met Bernice Albertine King, daughter of Martin Luther King.

The meeting took place in Rome. Present the delegation of Bernice Albertine King and the Minister Plenipotentiary Fabrizio Petri, President of the Interministerial Committee for Human Rights and member of the Observatory at the Farnesina.

The celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the death of the great leader of the African-American civil rights movement (Martin Luther King was assassinated on April 4, 1968) will culminate on April 9th. They will envisage a double initiative in Atlanta, Georgia: an inter-religious service and a "march for humanity", a commemoration of the funeral procession that accompanied the coffin of the African-American leader.

Bernice Albertine King, a Baptist pastor like his father, recently received, in Monteleone di Puglia, the International Peace Prize organized by the International Center for Non-violence "Mahatma Gandhi" and she was subsequently received by the Holy Father Francis.
